# sk101827 - Unable to log in to the GUI while cpmi_client is running

## Symptoms

- * Unable to log in to the GUI while `cpmi_client` is running and FWM process is consuming RAM.   

* FWM debug shows: `licensing_tool_MsgHandler: message_callback: Got error message: Server replied with no results`  

* The environment consists of many gateways managed by a single Security Server.  

* `cpstat` on the Security Management server shows that `cpmi_client` locks the database.

## Cause

IPS update is set to every X hours. While the*cpmi_client* process runs the update, no GUI actions can be done.
