# sk100392 - Apache2.2 service is not starting when port 80 is in use

## Symptoms

- * Apache2.2 is not starting
* In Windows Event Viewer (Application) we can see the following info under "Apache Service":  

  The Apache service named reported the following error:  
  \>\>\> Unable to open logs .   

  The Apache service named reported the following error:  
  \>\>\> no listening sockets available, shutting down .

  The Apache service named reported the following error:  
  \>\>\> Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted. : make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80 .

## Cause

Other applications are listening to port 80 preventing the Apache service from starting.
