# sk100287 - During boot, machine enters the GRUB command prompt

## Symptoms

- * When booting, user is presented with a GRUB command prompt.  

* Following the procedure in [sk100289 (How to boot manually from the GRUB command prompt)](http://supportcontent.checkpoint.com/solutions?id=sk100289) does not resolve the issue.

## Cause

* GRUB configuration is corrupted.
* GRUB is not able to find the required Linux kernel images after repartitioning, upgrade, etc.
