## Symptoms

- After a policy install that makes changes to the rulebase, some traffic no longer passes on Client Auth rules.

## Cause

[sk40731](http://supportcontent.checkpoint.com/solutions?id=sk40731) adds the `keep` parameter to the `client_auth` table. This keeps it from being emptied on policy installation.

If changes are made to the Firewall Rulebase that change the rule number of a Client Auth rule, the rule information stored in the `client_auth` table no longer matches the policy, and traffic is dropped.

**The `client_auth` table does not get updated until clients reauthenticate.**

For this reason, the default action is to empty the `client_auth` table on policy install, forcing re-authentication.
