## Symptoms

- * In an ElasticXL Cluster of 3900 appliances, a member does not rejoin the Cluster after a reboot.
* On the SMO, the "`asg stat"` command shows the member as LOST.
* A log in the */var/log/messages* file contains entries similar to: `Member <ID> ACTIVE(!) --> LOST`.
* On the Cluster member's console, the "`cphaprob -l list"` command shows the `pull_config` or `Configuration` devices in `problem` state.
* The command `ip -4 addr show Sync` on that Cluster member, shows that it's Sync interface has an address that does not match the Sync network.
* The file */etc/smodb.json* file on that member has a line with `sync_ip` in the 0.0.0.0/8 address range, or the literal `NA`.
* There is no service listening on TCP port 1132 on the affected member, and the logs show `Failed to bind to Sync address`. The configuration pull then fails at file transfer.
* Setting the Sync IP address manually does not survive a reboot.
* The issue occurs only after a reboot of a single member, and not on every reboot.
