## Symptoms

- When you run a command through `g_all` that contains nested quotation marks, the command may fail with a `"command not found"` error.

**Example:**

    [Expert@SG-s01-01:0]# g_all /bin/bash -c 'printf "SGM: %s\n" "$(hostname)"'

**Output:**

    /bin/bash -c {printf "SGM: %s\n" "$(hostname)"}: command not found

<br />

## Cause

The `g_all` command does not correctly process commands that contain nested quotation marks.

## Solution

[Contact Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/) to get a Hotfix for this issue.

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing it.

For faster resolution and verification, collect these files:
[CPinfo](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk92739) file from the Security Gateway / each Cluster Member / Security Group involved in the case.

Hotfix installation instructions:
Refer to [sk168597 - How to install a Hotfix](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk168597).

**Workaround**

Run the command with `gexec` instead of `g_all` when the command contains nested quotation marks.

Run the following commands in Expert mode on the Security Group system:

`gexec -c "<command>"`

where:

<br />

* `-c` specifies the command to run.
* `<command>` is the complete command to run on the Security Group Members.
* Enclose the complete command in quotation marks.
* Escape quotation marks or shell variables inside the command as required.

**Example**:

Failed command using

`g_all`:\[Expert@SG-s01-01:0\]# g_all /bin/bash -c 'printf "SGM: %s " "$(hostname)"'

/bin/bash -c {printf "SGM: %s " "$(hostname)"}: command not found

Equivalent command using `gexec` :

\[Expert@SG-s01-01:0\]# gexec -c "/bin/bash -c 'printf "SGM: %s " "\\$(hostname)"'"

Example output:

`[1_01]SGM: SG-s01-01 `

`[1_02]SGM: SG-s01-02`
